OpenAI Ads on ChatGPT

OpenAI has begun rolling out ads within the ChatGPT.com public user interface. The paid-for versions don't have ads yet, but the majority of ChatGPT users are not paying for the service yet. While Google currently remains the major player for transactional and informational search queries and ChatGPT is better known for creative, generative interaction, that gap is narrowing. To put it in perspective, ChatGPT already has more monthly active users than Bing.

The platform is still under active development. To set expectations, the measurement and reporting is not where we, as responsible stewards of your advertising budget, would like to see it. However, we are keen to work with any early adopters eager to explore this new advertising channel. The ads require a new mindset to perform well with an evolving user intent, and this is a fascinating channel to explore.

We currently charge a set-up fee to get campaigns up and running in ChatGPT, and a smaller monthly maintenance fee compared to our other ad platforms, dependent on the client's scope.
